40 I Am Affirmations to Say Every Day
I am affirmations are short lines that start with "I am" and say who you are, in the present tense, as if it is already true: "I am worthy of abundance," "I am safe and held," "I am the author of my story." Whatever you put after "I am" becomes the way you see yourself, and the signal you send. Here are 40 to choose from, and how to make them your own.

Why "I am" is so powerful
"I am" are the two words you say about yourself more than any others. "I am tired." "I am so bad at this." "I am never lucky." Each one is a small affirmation, said without thinking, and each one becomes part of the signal you send.
An I am affirmation simply chooses those words on purpose. In the Bible, God gives his name to Moses as "I AM THAT I AM," and teachers like Neville Goddard built their whole teaching on that idea: what you join to "I am," you become.
I am, or you are?
Most people say affirmations in the first person, and for most it is the right choice. Some find the second person lands deeper, because the critical voice in their head says "you" too: "You are worthy." Try both and keep what feels true. Here is when to use "I am" and when to use "you are".

"I AM" decrees
In the 1930s, the "I AM" Activity, founded by Guy and Edna Ballard, taught people to speak decrees out loud: strong lines that begin with "I AM," said in the name of the "I AM Presence," the part of God they believed lives in each of us. In Spanish, the books of the Venezuelan writer Conny Méndez brought these teachings, and the Saint Germain decrees, to millions of readers. One of the best-loved decrees calls on the violet flame.
A decree is an I am affirmation said with conviction, out loud, as a command rather than a wish.
How to use I am affirmations
Pick three that make you feel something, even a little. Say them out loud each morning, looking into your eyes in the mirror. Write one at the top of your journal. Put one on your lock screen so you see it all day. And when you catch yourself saying "I am" followed by something you don't want, stop and say a line from this list instead. For more volume, try saying one line all day with the robotic affirmations method.
How to write your own I am affirmations
Start with "I am." Add how you want to feel or who you want to be, in the present tense. Keep it short, keep it positive and leave out "not": "I am calm" works better than "I am not anxious." If a line feels too big, soften it: "I am becoming confident" is a step you can believe today. Then say it until it feels like yours.
