The band of sky it travels through is split into twelve equal parts, each named after the constellation that once sat behind it, and the sun spends about a month in each. What if I was born on the cusp?

The sun is in exactly one sign on any given day, so you have one sun sign, not two. What is true is that the changeover moves by a day or so from year to year, which is why anyone born right at a boundary should check their own year rather than trusting a fixed table.
