What are chakra affirmations?
Chakra is a Sanskrit word that means wheel. In the yoga tradition, seven main chakras sit along your spine, from its base to the top of your head. Each one holds a part of your life: safety, feeling, power, love, voice, sight and connection.
Chakra affirmations are short lines, one set for each chakra. Each set opens with its own words: I am, I feel, I do, I love, I speak, I see, I understand. You say them to bring that part of you into balance.
How to use chakra affirmations
Go from the bottom up. Sit still, breathe slowly, and put your attention at the base of your spine. Say the root lines. Move up one chakra at a time until you reach the crown. A full round takes about five minutes.
You can also stay with one chakra for a week. Pick the one that fits what you need: the throat before a hard talk, the heart after a hard day. If you like to pair words with breath, try this way of breathing with your lines.
