App comparison

Attraya vs I am: which affirmation app should you pick?

Pick I am if you want the oldest and largest library in the category and your iPhone is on iOS 18. Pick Attraya if your iPhone is older, if you want a lower price ceiling, or if you want one affirmation repeating in the background all day long.

What each one actually does

Attraya

  • A feed you swipe, by category: love, money, confidence, healing and more
  • Read out loud, hands free, and it keeps playing with the screen off
  • Home screen and lock screen widgets
  • Write your own affirmations, and stack them into your own mixes
  • Choose how it speaks to you: I am, or You are
  • Amplify repeats one affirmation for you, day and night
  • Reminders at the times you pick
  • Turn any affirmation into an image you can share

I am - Daily Affirmations

  • Many daily intentions to choose from
  • Reminders delivered through the day
  • Affirmations framed around self-esteem and resilience
  • Lifetime, monthly or yearly subscription
I am's App Store description is written as an argument for why affirmations work, not as a feature list, so this is everything it names. If the app does more, tell us and we will add it.
Each list is what that app's own App Store description says it does, read on 25 August 2026. Nothing here is a claim about what an app cannot do: a store description is a pitch, not a full feature list.

Pick I am if

I am has been on the App Store since 2014 and it is the affirmation app most people have heard of. Monkey Taps built it around a very large library and one simple daily habit.

  • You want the app with the longest track record in this category.
  • You need one of the 14 languages it lists, beyond the five Attraya covers.
  • You like reading your affirmation on an Apple Watch as well as your phone.
  • Your iPhone is already on iOS 18.

Pick Attraya if

Attraya is younger and smaller. What it does differently is keep one line in front of you all day, and run on iPhones that I am has stopped supporting.

  • Your iPhone is on iOS 16.4 or 17. I am now asks for iOS 18.
  • You want a lower ceiling. Attraya's in-app purchases stop at $49.99, I am's reach $149.99.
  • You want Amplify, which repeats one affirmation in the background around the clock, with nothing to record first.
  • You want lines written for the app rather than gathered: 2,188 of them in each of five languages, across 33 themes.

Looking for an I am alternative?

The usual reason people start looking is the iOS 18 requirement, which arrived with an update and quietly leaves older iPhones behind. Attraya asks for iOS 16.4. The other reason is the price ceiling. If neither of those is your problem, I am is a good app and there is no reason to switch. If you want to feel how Attraya writes before you install anything, the tools on this site and the affirmation lists are right here.
